Position markers are sold in metric sizes (mm), but ordinary drill bits are in inch fractions, so the dots never fits the hole! 
The solution to perfect fitting position markers is metric sized brad point drill bits! 

Mastercarver® brand drill bits feature twin lands for cool operation, cleaner cuts and minimal tear out. The sharp brad point holds the bit on center while the outer spurs cut a clean hole. Unlike other cheaper bits made with carbon steel, these feature long-lasting High Speed Steel (HSS).

Set includes bit sizes: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm. Sizes 7mm - 12mm have standard 1/4" (6.3mm) shanks.
