These unique tools developed by the well respected North American woodturner, Dave Hout, are used for making finished cuts when producing bowls. The cut is shear and leaves the end grain smooth. With practice, sanding can be all but eliminated.
Crown Tools are traditionally made hot forged gouges. They are ground and finished by hand. These tools have rapidly become the favorites of many discerning woodturners worldwide.
Made from M2 high speed steel (Rockwell 62/64) and fitted with ergonomically designed handles with heavy duty brass ferrules, these tools are beautifully effective, giving up to six times the edge life of carbon tools.
